St. Paul’s offers volleyball in the fall for 3rd through 8th grade girls. The team will practice after school twice a week. The cost of participating is $20, which goes into the athletics fund to assist in covering the cost of officials and awards. St. Paul’s is a member of the Chippewa Valley Lutheran Schools League. The members of the conference are: St. Mark- Eau Claire, Messiah- Eau Claire, and St. John’s- Neillsville.
The league has both A and B team competition. The A teams are primarily 7th and 8th graders, and the B teams are 5th and 6th graders- often including 4th graders to make numbers work in our small schools. This year, we do not have the numbers to support an A team. I have already discussed this with the other athletics directors in our league and they are willing to make exceptions for 7th grade girls to play on our team and still compete as a B team.
Parents are responsible for transporting or finding transportation for their child to all away games. If parents are unable to provide transportation the coach may be contacted for assistance. Carpooling is common and encouraged when necessary.
We will potentially offer concessions. I am looking for assistance with organizing concessions. I also need volunteers to sell the concessions at our home matches and will be sending out further communication for sign-ups.
