Mrs. Hemling’s Kindergarten Class Page!
Meet Mrs. Hemling
I was born in Wisconsin and lived there until we moved to Michigan when I was in 5th grade. (This is where I became a Lions fan.) From a young age I knew that I wanted to teach young children. I met my husband Tim in college and we got married after we graduated in 2001. We have two children Micah and Hannah. I attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2001. I started my teaching career in a small town in Nebraska where I taught grades K-3 for 8 years. Shortly after our son was born we moved back to Wisconsin where I stayed home with my children and ran an in home daycare for 3 years. I then returned to teaching and taught preschool for 4 years. In 2018 we moved to Florida where I subbed for the first year and after that taught PreK for 3 years. This is my second year at St. Paul’s and I’m so excited for this school year.
What’s Happening This Week
Here is what we are learning:
Jesus Time: We will learn about how God kept his promises to Abraham.
Memory Treasures:
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Psalm 50:15 “and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
Reading: We will finish our Golly book this week. We have been working very hard on making little g’s. We will also meet our new Superkid Alf who will teach us all about the letter Aa and the /a/ sound.
Writing: We will make a class list of our favorite places and make a drawing of our favorite place and add details to our drawing as needed.
Math: This week we are learning about the numbers in the 10’s family. We will also be comparing numbers and identifying which number is greater.
