Knights Basketball – Boys

Junior Knights
If you have a third grader that is passionate about basketball, we do welcome them into our practices. Once I see the skill level and the number of the junior knights, I will schedule one or two scrimmage opportunities. Last year we scrimmaged St. Joseph students. If we have large enough numbers between third and fourth grade I will set up a scrimmage within our own team and invite family to spectate. The fee for a junior knights is $10.

Basketball Team
St. Paul’s offers basketball in the fall/winter for 3rd-8th grade boys. The cost of participating is $25, which goes into the athletics fund to assist in covering the cost of officials, awards, and other related costs. St. Paul’s is a member of the Chippewa Valley Lutheran Schools League. The members of the conference are: St. Mark (Eau Claire), St. Paul (Bloomer), and Messiah (Eau Claire). We will play against St. John’s (Neillsville) during the girls’ basketball season as a co-ed game. Some of the boys will be asked to practice with the girls and play in those games. We have also scheduled games against Assumption (Durand). The league has both A and B team competition. The A teams are primarily 7th and 8th graders. The B teams are 5th and 6th graders, often including 4th graders to make numbers work in our small schools.
Coaches:
Chris Brunner returns as our boys basketball coach this season. Mrs. Gowling is the team manager and an assistant coach. Paster Oelhafen will also be assisting in coaching when his schedule allows. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Gowling at kelley.gowling@stpaulmenomonie.com.
Students will not be allowed to participate until the permission slip has been signed and returned to the office.
